US and EU users who prioritise a spotless security record — no major hack since 2011 — and want a serious pro-grade trading terminal.
Institutions and funds requiring an SEC-registered venue with segregated qualified custody and audited on-chain reserves.
Active spot traders chasing the deepest global liquidity and the widest listing catalogue outside the US perimeter.
Traders who mix spot and on-chain — the Web3 wallet, DEX aggregator and Ethereum L2 X Layer sit inside the same account as CEX pairs.
Long-horizon EU holders who want the oldest continuously-operating exchange (2011) with conservative listings and full MiCA licensing.
Derivatives-first traders who want tighter perp funding and a maker-friendly fee schedule; accept offshore regulatory footprint.

LayerZero is an omnichain messaging protocol that enables applications to communicate seamlessly across multiple blockchains. Launched in 2022 by Ryan Zarick, Bryan Pellegrino, and Caleb Banister via LayerZero Labs, the protocol has become one of the most widely-adopted cross-chain messaging systems in crypto — supporting messaging across 80+ blockchains as of 2026.
LayerZero's core proposition: any application can send arbitrary messages from one chain to another with configurable security parameters. This enables cross-chain token transfers (via applications like Stargate), cross-chain governance, cross-chain lending (Radiant Capital), and various omnichain application designs that would be impossible on a single chain.
ZRO is LayerZero's governance token, launched via a substantial airdrop in June 2024. The airdrop process was controversial — it included a self-attestation requirement and a proof-of-donation component that broke from typical crypto airdrop conventions. Despite the controversy, ZRO has established itself as a top-100 cryptocurrency by market capitalisation.
LayerZero's architecture separates message transport from message verification. When an application sends a message from Chain A to Chain B, two independent entities are involved:
Chain B verifies that the oracle attestation matches the relayer's payload. If they match (implying no collusion between oracle and relayer), the message is accepted. Applications can configure their own oracle and relayer or use LayerZero-provided defaults.
The ULN (Ultra Light Node) design is what makes this scalable — Chain B doesn't need to run a full node of Chain A. It only needs to verify oracle attestations, which is cheap on-chain. This enables LayerZero to support 80+ chains without every chain needing to run every other chain's full node.
In 2025-2026, LayerZero introduced additional security configurations including support for multiple DVN (Decentralized Verifier Network) validators per message, enabling applications to configure security requirements matching their specific value at stake.
ZRO has a total supply of 1 billion tokens. As of July 2026, circulating supply sits at approximately 130-150 million ZRO. Distribution:
ZRO is used for governance and various protocol utility functions. Fee-sharing mechanisms and other value-accrual pathways are progressive rather than automatic.
LayerZero's ecosystem is genuinely broad — 80+ chains supported and hundreds of applications built on top. The competitive challenge is that Chainlink CCIP, Wormhole, and Axelar all compete for cross-chain messaging market share with different technical approaches.
LayerZero's 2026 setup depends on continued cross-chain ecosystem growth and successful competition with CCIP, Wormhole, and Axelar. As one of the most widely-adopted cross-chain messaging systems, LayerZero has strong network effects but faces well-resourced competitors.

Analysis last updated:
LayerZero (ZRO) trades at $0.839292 with a 24-hour volume of $23.85M and a market capitalization of $296.54M. The asset is currently ranked #129 among all tracked cryptocurrencies.
In the last 24 hours, the ZRO price has risen +2.35%. On a seven-day window, LayerZero has climbed +5.82%, showing consistent upward momentum across both windows. Short-term moves are often amplified by liquidity, news flow, and derivatives positioning, so confirm signals across multiple indicators before acting.
LayerZero's all-time high of $7.47 was set on December 6, 2024. The current price sits +88.77% below that peak. Distance from the all-time high is a common reference point when evaluating long recoveries and macro support or resistance.
Buying LayerZero (ZRO) is a five-step routine once you have picked the right venue and pair. The steps below mirror what most investors do today.
You can also use the LayerZero converter above to estimate how much ZRO you would get for a given dollar amount before placing the order.
Whether LayerZero is a good investment depends on your goals, time horizon, and tolerance for volatility. Like all cryptocurrencies, ZRO carries real market risk: prices can rise or fall sharply in a day, and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns.
