About

Why we publish ratings

We rate crypto services hands-on — every entry starts with an editor opening a real account, moving real funds, and grading the service against six independent criteria. Crypto Compass News is non-commercial: scores cannot be bought, and the per-criterion breakdown is public on every review page.

Not every user wants the same thing. Beginners care about onboarding and support; long-term holders care about security and reputation; traders care about fees and features. Use the “Find your fit” block above to land where the scoring weighs the criteria that matter to you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do you rate crypto services?
Every service is scored against six criteria: Security, Fees, User Experience, Features, Support, and Reputation. Each criterion gets an independent 0–10 score, and the weighted average becomes the overall rating. Our reviewers personally open accounts, move funds, and test support before publishing.
How often are ratings updated?
Core categories (Exchanges, Wallets, DeFi) are re-reviewed at least once per month. Major updates ship immediately when a service changes fees, launches a product, or has a security incident. The changelog on this page always shows the latest movements.
Is Crypto Compass News a commercial project?
No. Crypto Compass News is an independent, non-commercial editorial project. We do not sell placements, run rankings-for-hire, or accept payment for a score. Rankings are generated by public scripts from public data and cannot be influenced by any external party.
Do you review services that are not popular yet?
We prioritise services with meaningful user bases but also review promising newcomers once they pass basic thresholds — public team, audited contracts, 30+ days live. New entries are marked with a "New" badge until they accumulate enough data for a full monthly review.
Can I suggest a service for review?
Yes. Reach out through our contact page with the service name, website, and a short note on why it deserves a review. We add qualifying services to our review backlog.
