US and EU users who prioritise a spotless security record — no major hack since 2011 — and want a serious pro-grade trading terminal.
Institutions and funds requiring an SEC-registered venue with segregated qualified custody and audited on-chain reserves.
Active spot traders chasing the deepest global liquidity and the widest listing catalogue outside the US perimeter.
Traders who mix spot and on-chain — the Web3 wallet, DEX aggregator and Ethereum L2 X Layer sit inside the same account as CEX pairs.
Long-horizon EU holders who want the oldest continuously-operating exchange (2011) with conservative listings and full MiCA licensing.
Derivatives-first traders who want tighter perp funding and a maker-friendly fee schedule; accept offshore regulatory footprint.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency created in August 2017 as a hard fork of Bitcoin. The fork was driven by disagreement over how Bitcoin should scale: one camp (that became Bitcoin Cash) wanted to increase the block size limit to allow more on-chain transactions per second, while the other (that remained on Bitcoin) favoured off-chain scaling via layers like Lightning Network and SegWit.
The August 2017 split gave every Bitcoin holder at the fork block equal amounts of both BTC and BCH. The two chains have diverged substantially in the eight years since: Bitcoin retained the vast majority of market cap and hashrate, while Bitcoin Cash pursued its own on-chain scaling roadmap. In 2026, BCH is a top-25 cryptocurrency but a small fraction of Bitcoin's market capitalisation.
The BCH ecosystem underwent a further split in November 2018 when Bitcoin SV (BSV) forked away in the wake of internal disagreement. BCH itself has continued development with a smaller but committed developer community, delivering upgrades like CashTokens (2023, adds token issuance to BCH) and ongoing scalability improvements.
Bitcoin Cash uses SHA-256 proof-of-work with 10-minute target block times — identical to Bitcoin. The main technical difference is the block size: BCH supports blocks up to 32 MB (vs Bitcoin's effective ~1.5 MB with SegWit). This allows BCH to process significantly more transactions per second on-chain — theoretically thousands, in practice constrained by real transaction volume which is well below capacity.
Transaction fees on BCH are typically fractions of a cent — significantly lower than Bitcoin even during Bitcoin's highest-fee periods. Confirmation times mirror Bitcoin's: three confirmations (about 30 minutes) is standard for merchant acceptance, though 0-conf (accepting an unconfirmed transaction) has been practical for small purchases given BCH's low-competition mempool.
The 2023 CashTokens upgrade added token issuance capability to BCH — analogous to but distinct from Ethereum's ERC-20 or Bitcoin's Runes. CashTokens can represent both fungible and non-fungible assets on the BCH chain. Adoption has been modest but non-zero; several DeFi-like protocols and NFT projects have deployed.
BCH inherits Bitcoin's monetary policy exactly: 21 million maximum supply, halving every 210,000 blocks. The halvings occur at approximately the same times as Bitcoin halvings (the two chains have similar block times and started at the same height). The April 2024 halving reduced BCH block rewards from 6.25 to 3.125 BCH; the next halving is expected in approximately April 2028.
As of July 2026, roughly 19.85 million BCH of the 21 million cap are in circulation — the same figure as Bitcoin, since both chains share the same pre-fork history. Effective annual inflation sits around 0.83%.
BCH mining hashrate is a small fraction of Bitcoin's — roughly 1-2%. Miners can switch between BCH and BTC easily (both use SHA-256) and typically mine whichever is more profitable per unit hashrate at any moment. This creates hashrate volatility on BCH and periodic mining-difficulty imbalances that the network manages via difficulty adjustment.
BCH's ecosystem is smaller and more focused than BTC's. Notable areas of activity:
BCH development is coordinated across multiple client teams (BCHN, Bitcoin Verde, Knuth) — a deliberate approach to prevent single-implementation dominance. Development pace is measured but consistent.
BCH in 2026 is a functional but modestly-followed cryptocurrency. It works: transactions confirm, fees are low, merchants accept it, the community continues to develop CashTokens and related infrastructure. What has not happened is a breakout catalyst that would re-position BCH in the top-10 or drive a new adoption cycle.
The neutral case is that BCH continues to hold its top-25 position, benefits from generalised crypto risk-on cycles, and serves ongoing merchant-payment demand at scale. This has been the pattern for years and would likely continue.
The bull case requires either (a) CashTokens ecosystem reaching a critical mass that draws meaningful developer attention, or (b) BTC fee spikes so severe and persistent that merchants and users decisively shift to BCH-style alternatives. Neither is base case, but both have happened in narrower forms in past cycles.
Analysis last updated:
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) trades at $211.02 with a 24-hour volume of $59.35M and a market capitalization of $4.23B. The asset is currently ranked #23 among all tracked cryptocurrencies.
In the last 24 hours, the BCH price has risen +0.25%. On a seven-day window, Bitcoin Cash has retraced +2.84%, showing mixed signals between the short and medium term. Short-term moves are often amplified by liquidity, news flow, and derivatives positioning, so confirm signals across multiple indicators before acting.
Bitcoin Cash's all-time high of $3,785.82 was set on December 19, 2017. The current price sits +94.43% below that peak. Distance from the all-time high is a common reference point when evaluating long recoveries and macro support or resistance.
Buying Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a five-step routine once you have picked the right venue and pair. The steps below mirror what most investors do today.
You can also use the Bitcoin Cash converter above to estimate how much BCH you would get for a given dollar amount before placing the order.
Whether Bitcoin Cash is a good investment depends on your goals, time horizon, and tolerance for volatility. Like all cryptocurrencies, BCH carries real market risk: prices can rise or fall sharply in a day, and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns.
