US and EU users who prioritise a spotless security record — no major hack since 2011 — and want a serious pro-grade trading terminal.
Institutions and funds requiring an SEC-registered venue with segregated qualified custody and audited on-chain reserves.
Active spot traders chasing the deepest global liquidity and the widest listing catalogue outside the US perimeter.
Traders who mix spot and on-chain — the Web3 wallet, DEX aggregator and Ethereum L2 X Layer sit inside the same account as CEX pairs.
Long-horizon EU holders who want the oldest continuously-operating exchange (2011) with conservative listings and full MiCA licensing.
Derivatives-first traders who want tighter perp funding and a maker-friendly fee schedule; accept offshore regulatory footprint.

Kaspa (KAS) is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency launched in November 2021 by Yonatan Sompolinsky, a researcher whose academic work on PHANTOM and GHOSTDAG protocols laid the theoretical foundation for the network. Kaspa is fundamentally different from Bitcoin in one crucial architectural way: instead of a linear blockchain where each block has exactly one parent, Kaspa uses a block-DAG (directed acyclic graph) where multiple blocks can be produced in parallel and later reconciled into a total order.
This block-DAG structure — coordinated by the GhostDAG protocol — allows Kaspa to achieve block times of one second (target rate: 1 block per second, currently BPS 1 with roadmap to increase substantially). This throughput is orders of magnitude higher than Bitcoin's 10-minute blocks while preserving proof-of-work security guarantees.
In 2026, Kaspa sits in the top-30 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. It has developed a genuinely committed community of PoW purists who view Kaspa as the technical answer to Bitcoin's scaling limitations without requiring layers, sidechains, or off-chain settlement. The 2023-2024 rally that took KAS from top-100 to top-30 was one of the most consistent grinds of any 2020s cryptocurrency.
In a traditional blockchain, orphan blocks (blocks produced simultaneously but not included in the main chain) are discarded — this is the fundamental scaling limitation. GhostDAG doesn't discard them. Instead, all blocks are incorporated into the block-DAG, and the protocol computes a total ordering across them using a specific mathematical algorithm that resists 50%+ attack patterns.
The result is that Kaspa can produce blocks as fast as network conditions allow without sacrificing security. Current mainnet operates at 1 block per second (BPS 1); the roadmap targets increasing to 10 BPS and eventually 100 BPS as network conditions and client software improve.
Kaspa uses the kHeavyHash proof-of-work algorithm, which is ASIC-resistant (though not indefinitely) and can be mined efficiently on modern GPUs. Merge-mining with Bitcoin was considered but rejected as inconsistent with Kaspa's design.
Kaspa has a fixed maximum supply of approximately 28.7 billion KAS. Emission follows a smooth logarithmic decay function rather than discrete halvings — new KAS issuance decreases by a factor of 1/(2^(1/12)) each month, which produces roughly annual halving behaviour on a smoothed continuous basis.
As of July 2026, approximately 25.5 billion KAS are in circulation — over 88% of the maximum supply. Effective annual inflation sits around 3-4% and continues to decline. Kaspa has no pre-mine, no ICO, no founder allocation, and no venture capital pre-distribution — a genuinely fair launch that few 2020s cryptocurrencies match.
There is no smart contract layer, no staking, no complex tokenomics. KAS is used for transaction fees and store of value; that is essentially the entire utility model. Development is funded through community donations and grants rather than protocol emissions.
In 2024, the KRC-20 token standard emerged on Kaspa, analogous to Bitcoin's BRC-20 inscriptions or Ethereum's ERC-20. KRC-20 lets developers issue fungible tokens directly on the Kaspa DAG. Various memecoins and utility tokens have deployed as KRC-20 with meaningful trading activity on emerging Kaspa DEXs.
The broader ecosystem is deliberately minimal by design. Notable projects:
The roadmap includes Kaspa-native smart contracts (potentially via a Rust-based execution environment separate from the DAG), which would substantially expand ecosystem capabilities. Timeline is progressive rather than committed.
Kaspa's 2026 setup rests on continued PoW community attention and progressive delivery of the block-DAG scaling roadmap. If BPS increases succeed and Kaspa-native smart contracts arrive on schedule, Kaspa becomes a fundamentally more useful network. If either delivery timeline slips substantially, cultural attention may rotate elsewhere.
The bull case is Kaspa positioning as the technical answer to "can PoW scale without layers?" combined with growing KRC-20 ecosystem economic activity. The bear case is that Ethereum L2s and Solana capture the fast-payment use case while Kaspa remains a niche PoW-purist community.
Analysis last updated:
Kaspa (KAS) trades at $0.028894 with a 24-hour volume of $5.5M and a market capitalization of $794.17M. The asset is currently ranked #78 among all tracked cryptocurrencies.
In the last 24 hours, the KAS price has risen +4.73%. On a seven-day window, Kaspa has climbed +4.47%, showing consistent upward momentum across both windows. Short-term moves are often amplified by liquidity, news flow, and derivatives positioning, so confirm signals across multiple indicators before acting.
Kaspa's all-time high of $0.207411 was set on August 1, 2024. The current price sits +86.07% below that peak. Distance from the all-time high is a common reference point when evaluating long recoveries and macro support or resistance.
Buying Kaspa (KAS) is a five-step routine once you have picked the right venue and pair. The steps below mirror what most investors do today.
You can also use the Kaspa converter above to estimate how much KAS you would get for a given dollar amount before placing the order.
Whether Kaspa is a good investment depends on your goals, time horizon, and tolerance for volatility. Like all cryptocurrencies, KAS carries real market risk: prices can rise or fall sharply in a day, and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns.
