US and EU users who prioritise a spotless security record — no major hack since 2011 — and want a serious pro-grade trading terminal.
Institutions and funds requiring an SEC-registered venue with segregated qualified custody and audited on-chain reserves.
Active spot traders chasing the deepest global liquidity and the widest listing catalogue outside the US perimeter.
Traders who mix spot and on-chain — the Web3 wallet, DEX aggregator and Ethereum L2 X Layer sit inside the same account as CEX pairs.
Long-horizon EU holders who want the oldest continuously-operating exchange (2011) with conservative listings and full MiCA licensing.
Derivatives-first traders who want tighter perp funding and a maker-friendly fee schedule; accept offshore regulatory footprint.

Zano (ZANO) is a privacy-focused layer-1 blockchain built on a forked CryptoNote codebase, the same protocol family that gave rise to Monero and Bytecoin. The project began life as a continuation of Boolberry, the privacy coin launched in 2014 by Andrey Sabelnikov. After Boolberry stagnated, the same core developers rebuilt the codebase around a new architecture and rebranded it as Zano in 2019.
Zano is best described as a privacy infrastructure platform rather than a single payment coin. It runs a hybrid proof-of-work and proof-of-stake consensus, supports confidential assets (privacy-preserving tokens issued on the chain), and bakes atomic swaps and aliases into the base layer. The native ZANO token pays for transactions, secures the network through staking, and serves as the settlement asset for confidential assets and decentralized swaps.
ZANO/USD trades on a small set of exchanges because privacy assets face heavier compliance overhead than mainstream coins. Reference price feeds aggregate the deepest order books and weight by reported volume. The number on this page refreshes every 60 seconds.
What tends to move the ZANO price:
Live data above is the source of truth. The analysis below uses the levels visible at page load.
Zano inherits the CryptoNote privacy stack and layers its own additions on top. Every transaction hides the sender, the receiver, and the amount by default, and the protocol uses several techniques in parallel to make deanonymization difficult.
For sensitive use, running a full node behind Tor or I2P is recommended, because IP addresses can leak through plain RPC connections regardless of how strong the on-chain privacy is.
Zano runs a hybrid consensus model. Roughly half of new blocks are produced by proof-of-work miners, and the rest are produced by proof-of-stake validators. The split is enforced by the protocol, and the two algorithms alternate in a way that makes a 51% attack require both substantial hashrate and a large stake of ZANO at the same time.
The hybrid model is the core selling point for Zano holders. PoW gives the network external energy backing and resistance to insider attacks, while PoS gives long-term holders a reason to lock up supply and participate in security without buying mining hardware.
Two features set Zano apart from most other CryptoNote forks: native confidential assets and built-in atomic swaps.
For users, the practical effect is that Zano is not just a private payment coin. It is closer to a privacy-first settlement layer where assets, swaps, and contracts can all run with hidden amounts and counterparties.
Zano and Monero share the same CryptoNote roots, but the two projects have diverged in design and scope. The split usually comes down to consensus, asset support, and developer focus.
Monero is the conservative pick for users who want only proven, default-on privacy at scale. Zano is the more experimental pick for users who want privacy plus programmable assets and trustless swaps on the same chain.
Zano trades on a smaller venue set than top-twenty coins. The path you take depends on whether you are willing to use a centralized exchange or prefer a non-KYC route through atomic swaps.
A non-KYC alternative is to buy Bitcoin first and then atomic-swap it for ZANO. The trade settles peer-to-peer between two wallets without an intermediary holding the funds. Liquidity is thinner than on a centralized exchange, so test with a small amount before scaling up.
Zano carries the regulatory risks of any privacy asset, plus the additional risks that come with a smaller market cap and a tighter ecosystem.
