OpenSea: the default for collectors
OpenSea v3 / OS2 (relaunched 2024–2025) supports Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Solana, and more. Enforced royalties on most collections returned in 2025 after the operator-filter wars of 2023. Best UX for casual collectors and primary mints.
Blur: pro-trader Ethereum
Blur dominates Ethereum NFT volume from active traders. Aggregated order books, sweep tools, advanced bidding, and the Blast L2 offshoot. Lower marketplace fees (0% in some cases) and zero or optional royalties for traders — controversial but commercially successful. Loyalty points migrated to BLUR token incentives.
Magic Eden: the cross-chain leader
Started Solana-only, now cross-chain (Ethereum, Bitcoin Ordinals, Polygon, Base, Bitcoin Runes). Best Solana NFT UX, deepest Ordinals integration, and clean experience for buying across multiple chains from a single wallet flow.

Marketplace risks
Phishing copies of marketplace UIs remain the #1 way users lose NFTs. Always navigate via bookmark or direct typing. Never click marketplace links from Discord DMs. Review wallet pop-ups — set approvals are how drainers steal everything in one click.
